Doomsday

Doomsday 's just a hearbeat away.

Since I've become an photo manipulator, or in fact since I've defined myself as being an artist, I've learned one thing very well, and that is to act when inspiration strikes. In my case, acting on inspiration means that I (literally) drop everything but the most important things and get to work.

Today, inspiration struck when I saw the cover of Dook's most recent album, Archaic. Originally, "Doomsday"¹ would be very, very similar to that cover, a 'skull moon' over a city.

But, as often happens with my work, it evolved. Ideas kept springing up, I saw more stock in my folder and in my other stock sources I could use, I saw interesting opportunities, etcetera, etcetera.

Finally, my canvas became what you're looking at now: Doomsday

Update, 9 january 2006:
