Description
Just when you thought I didn't do photo manipulations anymore
This piece is inspired by ~Direfly's work. I really like her style, and like with "Neptune's Revenge", I initially set out to copy - and thus learn from - her style.
As most of her work included text, I made a poem to go along with it, based on the first few lines of Edgar Allen Poe's "The Raven":
Once upon a midnight, most dreary
I pondered, weak and weary,
what the future would bring:
pounding war-drums and a dirge to sing?
Or perhaps a more melancholic tune,
sad music for under the full moon?
Whatever shall come a-flocking,
I will not hear it anymore,
for I hear Death knocking,
knocking on my bedroom door...
It had the door and everything...
At one point, I was unsatisfied with it and left it alone 'til about a week ago. I had found a new piece of stock, implemented it in the art and then it pretty much made itself what it is now
And if you're wondering: IMO the poem I made is bad, so I only included the first few words
Don't forget to download the full 1600X1200 version!

Oh, I like the texture of the pieces in the background. Good choice of stock to complete this, too. It works well with the rest of the composition.
